tvsweep Terms of Use
Last updated: 2026-10-24
These terms apply to the tvsweep app for Android and iOS and to the services behind it (api.tvsweep.com, tvsweep.com). By installing or using the app you agree to them. If you buy the app through Google Play or the App Store, the store's own terms apply to the purchase as well; where they conflict with these terms on payment or refunds, the store's terms win.

2. What tvsweep does
tvsweep connects from your phone to an Android TV or Google TV on the same Wi‑Fi network, using the TV's own developer debugging (ADB). It shows you what is installed and running, and lets you:
- switch pre-installed apps off (and back on),
- block apps from running in the background (and unblock them),
- clear caches and, if you choose, clear an app's data or delete downloaded files,
- set, change or reset the TV's Private DNS,
- restart the TV.
Switching off is what the TV's own settings menu does: nothing is uninstalled, and anything switched off can be switched on again. Before the first change on a TV the app saves a backup on your phone.
3. Requirements
- A TV or streaming device running Android TV or Google TV version 9 or newer, on the same Wi‑Fi as your phone. Fire TV, Roku, Samsung Tizen and LG webOS are not supported.
- Developer debugging enabled on the TV ("USB debugging" or "Wireless debugging"). The app walks you through it. Debugging over the network is unencrypted; the app reminds you to switch it off when you are done.
- Internet access on the phone for descriptions, purchase confirmation and the DNS provider list. Report, undo and restore work offline.
- We may require an app update before the server answers an old version.
4. Licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, for your own TVs or TVs you are authorised to manage. You may not copy, sell, rent, sublicense or redistribute the app, remove notices, or reverse engineer it except where the law allows it regardless of this clause. On iOS, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies as minimum terms; where these terms give you more, these terms apply.
5. Free and paid
Free, always: connecting to the TV, the full report and TV status, app descriptions, backup, undo, "Enable again", "Unblock background", "Restore everything" and DNS reset. Undo stays free even without internet and even if your purchase is refunded.
One-time purchase ("tvsweep.unlock"): switching apps off, blocking background apps, clearing cache, Private DNS and restart from the phone. It is a single, non-recurring purchase made through Google Play or the App Store. The price is set per country by the store and shown in the app in your currency; the reference price is USD 4.99 (EUR 4.99, PLN 19.99). There is no subscription and no separate "pro" tier.
The purchase is tied to the store account you bought it with. It works on all your TVs and on other phones signed in to the same store account ("Restore purchases"). Apple and Google do not share purchases, so a purchase on one store does not unlock the app on the other.
After the store confirms payment, the app sends the proof of purchase to our server, which checks it with the store and returns a signed unlock. The app refreshes this confirmation whenever it has internet; without internet the unlock is honoured for 30 days, then the app asks you to go online. If the server cannot be reached right after buying, the app unlocks for 24 hours on the store's confirmation and retries.
6. Refunds and withdrawal
Payments and refunds are handled by Google Play and the App Store under their rules; please request a refund there. As an EU consumer you have a 14-day right of withdrawal from a digital content purchase; the stores implement this in their checkout, including your acknowledgement that the content is delivered immediately. If the store refunds or revokes the purchase, our server is notified and the app returns to the free version at its next start with internet. Nothing on your TV is changed by that; backups, history and undo stay available.
7. Your TV, your decisions
- Every change asks you to confirm and tells you what you lose, its risk level, whether it needs a restart and how to undo it. You make the changes at your own risk; we make them reversible wherever the TV allows.
- Two things cannot be undone, and the app says so and asks for an explicit tick before doing them: clearing an app's data (signs you out of that app) and deleting a downloaded file.
- Apps the TV needs (launcher, remote, system components) are protected and have no switch-off button.
- Private DNS: if the chosen provider fails, the TV has no internet; the app tests the connection after each change and restores the previous setting itself if the test fails, and you can reset DNS with one tap at any time. DNS providers are third parties with their own terms and privacy practices; the list we show is informational.
- TV software updates may switch apps back on; the app tells you and lets you switch them off again.
- Use the app only on TVs you own or are authorised to manage, and keep debugging switched off when you are not using it.
8. Descriptions and labels
App descriptions and the labels "Nothing to lose", "Think it over" and "Protected" come from our knowledge base. New entries are produced with the help of a language model and reviewed by us; they can still be wrong or incomplete, and TV firmware differs between models and regions. Treat them as guidance, read what each card says you would lose, and use "Report wrong description" if something is off.
9. Acceptable use
Do not use the app or our server to harm, probe or overload any system; do not send automated or bulk requests to api.tvsweep.com; do not try to bypass the purchase, forge proofs of purchase or entitlements, or interfere with other users. We apply request limits per address and per device and may block devices that abuse the service.
10. Service availability and changes
We try to keep the server available but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may change, add or remove features and server services with reasonable notice where the change affects what you paid for. Report, undo and restore are designed to work without the server.
11. Liability
As a consumer you have the statutory rights for digital content under EU law and the Polish Consumer Rights Act (conformity, remedies, updates); nothing here limits them. We are fully liable for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence, for death or personal injury, and wherever liability cannot be excluded by law.
Otherwise, to the extent the law permits, we are not liable for: consequences of changes you confirmed on your TV after being informed of the risk; loss of data you chose to clear or delete after confirming it cannot be undone; the behaviour of third-party DNS providers, TV makers' software or store services; or indirect losses. If a third-party claim concerns the app on iOS, Apple is not responsible for it; its responsibility is limited to refunding the purchase price where its terms say so.
12. Privacy
How the app and our server handle data is described in the Privacy Policy at https://tvsweep.com/privacy, which is part of these terms.
13. Governing law and disputes
Polish law applies. If you are a consumer in another EU country, the mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence still protect you, and you may bring claims in your local courts. Please contact support@tvsweep.com first; most issues are quicker to fix directly.
We do not take part in out-of-court consumer dispute resolution procedures. As a consumer in Poland you can still seek free help from a municipal or district consumer ombudsman (rzecznik konsumentów) or from the Trade Inspection (Inspekcja Handlowa).
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example for new features or legal changes. We will post the new version at https://tvsweep.com/terms and update the date above; for material changes we will tell you in the app before they apply. If you do not accept a change you can stop using the app; your statutory rights regarding a purchase you already made are not affected.
